Join Blackdown Scouts as a Trustee
Have you considered being a Charity Trustee Board Member?
If you’ve got a bit of time to spare, want to build your CV, or help give young people skills for life, why not consider becoming a Trustee with Blackdown District Scout Council?
Scout Association trustees operate under the rules of the Charities Commission, within a trustee board structure at each group, district and county level etc. Each board is a team of volunteers working together as charity trustees, who with strategic, financial and governance responsibilities help our uniformed adult volunteers deliver fantastic programmes that give young people skills for life.
Being a trustee is a great for professional development, particularly for those looking for experience in strategic planning, finance, risk management and general board level experience. We need people who can see things from different viewpoints, and who are passionate about supporting their community. We also encourage every volunteer to bring their own skills, knowledge and experience to the role.
No previous experience in scouting or as a trustee is necessary, and whilst the time commitment can vary depending on the type of trustee role and time of year, it’s usual for the trustees to meet 5-7 times per year.
Blackdown District Scout Council is currently receiving applications to join our Trustee Board, so if you would like to learn more or apply, then please email chairman@blackdownscouts.org.uk.
Please note that the deadline for applications is Friday 21st March 2025.
We are trying to reach a wide range of potential trustee applicants, so please do pass this notice onto anyone you know that could make a good Trustee Board member!
