The Tour De Somerset – Ilminster to Chard section…is coming!

Date: 22nd May 2022 Location: Summervale Surgery, Ilminster Sections: Scouts

On May 22nd the District is organising a short cycle ride with challenges along the way from Ilminster to Chard along the old railway line and back again.

This will be for teams of 4 – 6 Scouts cycling in a safe manner departing Ilminster Summervale Surgery Carpark featuring challenges and time trials along the route.

The cost for this event is the staggering sum of £1 per Scout. Activities will take place in Chard before cycling back to Ilminster. Leaders can cycle with the Scouts if they wish to.

Graham – DSL Blackdown would also like some help with the challenges and marshalling.

The Scouts will depart Ilminster at staggered time slots which will be allocated on entry. First departure will be 10am.

Closing date for this event is the 14th May.

This is not a hard route but bikes need to be in good condition and road worthy. All cyclists must be wearing a helmet. A puncture repair kit per team would be an idea. The majority of the route is away from roads so the Scouts can enjoy the fresh air and countryside.

Replies to DSL Graham Bell by the closing date please. Cheques payable to Blackdown District Scouts or use the BACs system putting a reference of “Scout Section Cycle”
